Me and my journey so far….


Firstly welcome to my blog, I guess this has been a long time waiting to happen but here it goes ….

So I will begin with a little about myself, I am 27 years old living in Co. kildare I have a gorgeous son Scott, who is now 9 months old.  My journey to a healthier “me” has begun and ended far too many times, so when I had my son last September I said this is it, its now or never. The main reason I wanted to change our lifestyle was for Scott, I didn’t want him ending up with the bad eating habits I grew up with and I say that because I chose to eat all of the wrong foods and my lifestyle habits left little to be desired. My blog will be honest and truthful, I will share my weekly highs and lows, with my current weigh in updates, recipes of my food, photos and my progression along my weight loss journey and maybe a few naughty recipes thrown in for good measure.

I began on the 13th of January this year, I joined a local Slimming world group and I guess the rest is history as the saying goes. On my first weigh in I was extremely apprehensive with what I was facing. I had joined and rejoined so many times before but something inside me knew this was now or never. I just felt it was my time I guess. I was greeted by my amazing consultant who welcomed me with open arms and I was instantly put at ease to any doubts etc. I had. I think it helped that I joined with a friend and I had her support along with my family to keep me on the straight and narrow.

My first week I just stuck my head into it and to my amazement, I was literally eating the same foods I always have but just cooking and preparing them in a different manner. Being a big ‘Foodie’ fanatic my love of all things bad played a major part in my weight gain. I love baking and cooking and I guess I loved to reward my nearest and dearest with my produce whether it be a Seasonal berry cheesecake in summer or my beloved Teabrack and carrot cakes in autumn, you would be sure to get something naughty a couple of times a week from me. But all cream cakes and curry’s aside, I embarked on the greatest journey my life has ever had.

My first week, I lost a total of 1.5lbs, I wasn’t happy with that, I was greedy and wanted more. But I had the itch I needed and wanted it and it may sound a bit obsessive but here I was weighing in at 20st 12.5lbs, I wanted to shift those baby’s A.S.A.P.!! So I am now at week 24 of my Journey, I am -51.5lbs which is 3st 9.5lbs. I honestly cannot believe it, I look at myself in the mirror and go is that me have I done this or is it all a dream??

My next post I would love to share some new and some trusty recipes with you and of course update you on my weekly weigh in. I have so many ideas popping into my head right now so I need to go write them all down and share them with you. I would love to hear your feed back and any questions please leave below.     Welcome to the world of blogging! I started following your Instagram feed a few wks ago to inspire me to join SW & that’s exactly what I did yesterday 🙂 really looking forward to your blog now too. Thanks for all the advice. I was such an expert on WeightWatchers from my previous journey I’m finding SW a bit overwhelming. I’m also a bit devastated that’s I’m back here again with 2.5 stone to loose 3 years after I got to my goal. After my wedding I put on some weight & then baby weight on top of it, but here goes! Good luck xx
